Pauline Stansill

       Wannita Pauline Stansill, 82, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in West Des Moines, IA.  Pauline was born March 12, 1940 in Horton, MO to Ralph P. and Gladys F. (Henning) Houdeshell. She was married to Marvin I. Powell on August 9, 1958 in Gashland, MO and he preceded her in death on November 23, 1967 in Liberty, MO. She was married to John H. Stansill on October 25, 1968 in Miami, OK and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2005 in Springfield, MO.

      Pauline graduated from Liberty High School in 1957. She worked at Sears for 33 years in Kansas City, MO doing clerical work.  Her hobbies included quilting, embroidery, and cross-stich.

      Survivors include three children, Theresa Thompson (Kevin), Carla Anders (Ben), and Rodney Stansill; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; 11 siblings, Dan R. "Junior" Houdeshell (Betty), Maudie Bogart, Mae Lamb, Ruby Castlebury-White, Pat Schwartz, Ellen Brooks (Mike), Dinah Smith (Charlie), Sarah Underwood (Ralph), Jimmie Houdeshell, Wanda Watts (Richard), Raymond Houdeshell. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; six siblings, Lloyd Houdeshell, Lee Houdeshell, Lillia Bogart, Bob Houdeshell, Viola Chancelor, and Lenora McElwee.                                     

      The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. at the Sheldon Christian Church in Sheldon, MO on Saturday, February 11, 2023 and graveside committal will follow in the Sheldon Cemetery.

      Memorials are suggested in her name to the American Cancer Society c/o Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
