Rebecca Ann McCown, 67 formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at her home in Lebanon, MO. Becky was born on January 10, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Gordon and Gladys (Fitzpatrick) Plummer.
Becky grew up in Butler, MO and attended school in Butler. She received an Associate Degree in Teaching at Longview College in Lee’s Summit, MO. Becky worked at the Willow Lane Nursing Home in Butler for a number of years before moving to Nevada, MO. While in Nevada she owned and operated Glabecks Boutique & Crafts for several years and then went to work for Easy Living In-Home Care Service in Nevada before moving to Bolivar to work for the Bolivar Center for the Developmentally Disabled until her retirement in 2013. Becky has resided in Lebanon for the past 2 years to be near her family.
Survivors include her three children Velora Uentillie (Brian), Brighton, MO, William McCown, Lebanon, MO, Bobbie McCown, Lebanon, MO, three step-children, Jimmy Taylor, of South Carolina, Gary Taylor of Wichita, KS, and Donna Taylor of Wichita, KS, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, one sister, Wanda Randolph of Cedar Rapids, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Treva Jones, Doris Allen, and Edith Gimple, a daughter, Michelle McCown, grandson, Christopher Taylor, and her life companion, Harvey Taylor.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rhonda Thomas officiating. A private interment will follow in the Balltown Cemetery, Horton, MO. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
