Robert Conway Obituary

          Robert Grayson Conway, 86, Overland Park, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Stratford Commons, in Overland Park, following a brief illness.  Robert was born on September 24, 1938 to Everett Clark and Josephine (Helm) Conway.  He married Beverly Elaine Sherman on March 17, 1961 in El Dorado  Springs, MO and she preceded him in death on November 14, 2017.

      Robert grew up in Pacific, MO and graduated from Pacific High School.  He lived in Nevada, MO and then in Olathe, KS most of his adult life.  He worked in construction beginning with Joseph L. Pohl Construction in Nevada then Combustion Engineering in Kansas City where he retired in 1993.

     Robert was an avid golfer, a sport he enjoyed his whole life, and was a proud member of the Missouri National Guard.

     Survivors include his children, Lisa Conway, daughter, Overland Park, KS, and Rob Conway (Annalisa Pizzarello Conway), Lake Sherwood, CA; three grandchildren, Eleanor Layne, Nico Conway, and Matteo Conway; two great-grandsons, Palmer Layne and Wesley Layne; and two brothers, John Conway and Mike Conway.  In addition to his wife, Beverly, and his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam K. Layne, and several brothers and sisters.

     Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada followed by a graveside service at Newton Burial Park in Nevada.
