Robert Phillips, Jr.

    Robert Edwards Phillips, Jr, 71, formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away on April 26, 2025, at his home in Reno, Nevada, following a lengthy illness.  Robert was born on January 22, 1954, in Port Smith, VA to Robert Edward Phillips, Sr. and Roxana (McGrath) Phillips.

    Due to his father being in the military, he moved with his family quite frequently.  He met Deborah Y. Foster in Reno, NV in 1980 and they were married in 1981. He lived in Nevada, MO from 2001-2015.  He was a roofer nearly all of his adult life, a job which he enjoyed very much. 

    He is survived by his children,  B. J. Phillips (Rachel) and Maria Million (Melvin Foley), both of Nevada, MO.  At the end of his life, he was lovingly cared for by his adopted daughter, Kristina Whitmire, Reno, NV.  His favorite comment to Kristina was to “simmer down”.  In addition to his children, he will be missed by his grandchildren, Kara, Sophie, Maddy, Jesse Jorden, Mark and Cyrus with whom he enjoyed eating a lot of  Pixy Stix; and his great-grandchildren, Addie, Alex, and Noah.

    Following cremation in Reno, NV, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Nevada, MO.
