Robert (Bob) Horn Obituary

          Robert (Bob) Lynn Horn, 68, St. Petersburg, FL passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Bay Pines VA Health Care System following a lengthy illness. Bob was born September 27, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Richard and Betty L. (Sands) Horn. He married Mary Jane Wynn and to this union two children were born. He later married Vickie Lynn Howell and to this union three children were born in addition to the three bonus children that Vickie brought to the marriage with her. She preceded him in death in 2010.

     Bob grew up in Kansas City and graduated from high school there. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Westchester County. Following his service years, he spent time in Arizona and in Kansas City before settling permanently in Florida. Bob worked as a truck driver for Winn Dixie for many years. He always looked forward to trips home to his visits with his father and mother while staying with his brother Mike on Horn Hill in Walker, MO. Bob loved the Kansas City Chiefs, he never missed an episode of the Price is Right, was an avid Poker Player, and he never missed a good time.

     Survivors include his children, Robert D. Horn, Springfield, MO, Jackie Wilson, Kansas City, MO, Zachary Horn, St. Petersburg, FL, Lucillia Muijters (Dean), Ft. Carson, CO, Victoria Horn, the Netherlands, Donna Howell, St. Petersburg, FL, Thomas Frye, St. Petersburg, FL, and Amber Howell, St. Petersburg, FL; six grandchildren, Josiah, Alyson, Matthew, Natasha, Madalyn, Molly, and Jayda; one sister, Paula Sowell (Gary), Lenexa, KS; and one brother, Michael Horn, Walker, MO.  In addition to his wife, Vickie, he was preceded in death by his parents.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in Newton Burial Park in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
