Ruby M. (Wright) Williams Craft, 91, formerly of Milo, MO passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Bungalows in Nevada. Ruby was born January 5, 1931 in Hiatville, KS to Erastus V. and Mary Leone (Weston) Wright. She was married to Gene D. Williams and from this marriage nine children were born. On October 1, 1970 she married Nelson Craft and he preceded her in death on December 14, 2000.
Ruby came to Vernon County at a young age with her family and settled on a small farm east of Milo. She attended school in El Dorado Springs. For most of her life she was a homemaker but also worked at several different places for a short time, including Nelly Don, Gibsons in Nevada, Nevada State Hospital, and was also an Avon Lady. Ruby was a talented seamstress and made clothing for her children. Some of her hobbies included painting, and gardening. Ruby was a longtime member of the Milo Baptist Church, a 65-year member of the Nevada Chapter Order of the Eastern Star where she was a Past Matron and former District Deputy Grand Matron.
Survivors include four sons, Gene Williams (Jan), Mozelle, MS, Danny Williams (Blanche), Nevada, MO, Ed Williams, Sheldon, MO, and Kevin Williams, Milo, MO; 28 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 47 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Chester Wright, Milo; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Nelson, she was preceded in death by five children, Elaine Mitts, Margie Carpenter, Donna Conway, Michael Williams, and Ronald Williams; grandson, Johnathan Williams; great-grandson, Anthony Barnes; great-great-grandson, Teagan Baldwin; two brother, Charles Wright, and Otis Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Lorne Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Milo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home.
