Obituary

Shirley Laverne (Batchelor) Allen, loving mother, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at the age of 82, at Nathan Richards Healthcare Center in Nevada, MO. Shriley was born July 7, 1940 in Monroe, GA to Hollis G. and Leona I. (Glass) Batchelor.

Shirley is survived by one daughter, Cindi Gill of Nevada; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joe Batchelor, and his wife Terri of El Dorado Springs, MO, and Harold Batchelor of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; longtime companion, Pete Williams; two sons, Chris Allen, and Craig Allen; an infant grandson; and a brother, Wayne Batchelor.

Shirley was a dedicated mother, first and foremost. She treasured her children, embracing every moment with them, and especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Shirley made friends everywhere she went.  For over 30 years she worked as a hairdresser. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting a lot of this world. A trip to the casino or a stroll around the dance floor, she had a spirit. Shirley will be dearly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
