Timothy Wayne Stong, 52, Sheldon, MO passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019 at his home in Sheldon after being diagnosed in September with cancer. Tim was born January 18, 1966 in Nevada the son of James Wayne and Katherine (Long) Stong.
Tim graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1984. He was employed AT&T Communications for the prior 30 years building communication towers and later fiber optic networks. He was an outdoorsman whose hobbies included hunting, fishing and BBQ’s with family and friends. Tim especially enjoyed road trips with his companion of 13 years, Rockie Braun. He raised cattle, and enjoyed working with horses. Memberships included the Elks Lodge #564 in Nevada.
He is survived by Rockie, of the home, four children, Chanelle, Zachary, Brandi, and Nathan Braun, all of Roff, OK; one grandson Brexton Millman; father James Stong, Nevada; brother Dustin Shane Stong (Melissa), Sheldon; two nieces, Kallie Leer, Sheldon; Carissa Stong, Sheldon; aunt, Sharon Hacker, Nevada; uncle, Rick Stong (Sharon), Coffeeville, OK, father-in-law David Harris, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his mother, and mother-in-law, Patrice Harris.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019 in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Kenny Wilson officiating with an Elks Service to follow. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12 noon until service time.
