Troy Janes Obituary

Troy Lane Janes, age 58, formerly of El Dorado Springs, MO passed away peacefully on Monday, June 2nd, 2025 in Nevada. Troy was born February 26, 1967 in Enid Oklahoma to Glenn Lee Janes & Rita Kay Green Janes. They moved back to El Dorado Springs when Troy was 4 months old, where he grew up & spent a great deal of his life.

Troy attended Eldorado Springs High School but left early to follow in his dad’s footsteps in the family tradition of mechanics. Working alongside Lee opening Lee’s Auto & Sons December of 1983 on Hayden Ave. in El Dorado Springs, MO for over 20 years. Troy continued making a living as a mechanic until the time of the stroke in 2016. In Troy’s words “I became a hell of a mechanic” & he was very proud of it.

Troy married Mary Crawford on October 5, 1990. Together or apart, they raised four beautiful daughters: Linda, Rayann, Lacey, & Tory. His daughters were the light of his life. Mary was the love of his life & they remained best friends for the rest of his life.

Troy was saved at the age 7, at Filley Christion Church, being baptized at Stockton Lake. He would tell you that he was not a perfect man, & through life choices, he went down a dark path for a time, but his faith never wavered. As a result, Troy rededicated his life, which led him to Joplin, Mo where he became very active in the Lazarus House for Men. He enjoyed his position of Older Brother in the Lord, helping many men navigate their new faith in Christ Jesus, also teaching them a life skill of mechanics in the Lazarus house One Way Auto Garage, which had been his vision to help others.

Troy developed a love for racing working alongside his brother-in-law Monty building a modified, & he continued attending the races for many years. He also had a love of rock music of any kind, cook outs, days at the lake, cruising back roads & teaching the girls to drive, & time spent with his Lord Jesus. His faith remained strong to the end; he was ready to be at peace and be with the Lord.
