William Leroy Good

    William Leroy Good, 65, of Nevada, MO passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, MO following an illness of several months.   Bill was born in Ft. Scott, KS on November 27, 1956 to William Clark and Francis Marie (Wells) Good.   He married Sheryl Monday on August 16, 1990 in Nevada and she preceded him in death on March 18, 2015.

     Bill was raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School Class of 1975.  He began working as a greenskeeper for the Nevada Country Club while in high school.   He became superintendent and worked full time until 2016 and then continued working part time until 2021.

      Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and especially “loved his grandchildren”.   He was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching the games on TV. Bill was a member of the undefeated 1973 Nevada High School football team.   

      Survivors include his children, Amanda Williams, daughter, and her husband, Wade, Tulsa, OK, William Justin Good, Nevada, Amber Bravo, Nevada, and William Craig Good, Springfield, MO; grandchildren Tristen Williams, Kaitlyn Williams, Piper Williams, William Colton Good, William Levin Good, Michael Long, Bryson Long, William Nathan Good, Trinity Good, Temperance Good, Jayda Clark, Marco Bravo, Jr., and Ysidra Bravo; great-grandchildren, William Kayden Good, Liam Good, and Sylvie Good;  his mother, Francis Good, Nevada;  and one brother, Gary Good, Nevada.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryl, and his father, William Clark Good.

       A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Pastor Roger Beach officiating.  Inurnment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.  Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
